Terms and Conditions


General

These Terms & Conditions apply to all transactions between you (’the customer’) and us (’the supplier’) and are governed by English Law.
By using our website you are agreeing to these Terms & Conditions.
Nothing in these terms will be deemed to affect your statutory rights. Please read carefully.

DELIVERY

  • Standard UK Mainland Delivery is free on all orders over £40

  • Standard UK Mainland Delivery is just £3.95 for orders up to £39.99 

  • We aim to despatch all orders from our stock within 48 hours, to arrive with you within 2 to 5 working days

  • Guaranteed Next Day Delivery for UK Mainland only is £7.95 for orders received before 12 noon
    (available Monday-Friday) 
  • Non-Mainland UK & Overseas customers.  We have put a guide price at the checkout.  Prior to despatch we will contact you to advise the exact delivery charge based on the actual weight of the parcel.  This may be more or less than the guideline stated.  You will be able to cancel or change your order if required. 

  • Deliveries are made via Royal Mail Second Class Post.
  • Please use a delivery address where there is someone to sign for your parcel. If you are not in when the delivery arrives you will be offered another delivery date or collection from a local depot.
  • If an item is temporarily out of stock, we will inform you prior to despatch of your order & advise you of an expected delivery date. You will have the option to cancel your order prior to despatch if you would rather not wait. Payment is not taken until your order has been despatched.

  • You can track the progress of your order by logging into ’My Account’.

  • Where possible we prefer to recycle packaging by re-using our cardboard boxes & filling.

    Pay & Collect: WAKEFIELD PAY & COLLECT SERVICE

  • Guaranteed Next Day Delivery for UK Mainland only is £7.95 for orders received before 12 noon

    Pay & Collect: WAKEFIELD PAY & COLLECT SERVICE

  • Local jam customers may PAY & COLLECT by shopping online at www.jamgifts.co.uk & collecting in-store at jam, 49 Northgate, Wakefield (phone: 01924 382662).

  • Simply select your goods, pay at the online checkout & select the option Wakefield COLLECT IN-STORE to avoid incurring the usual delivery charge. 
  • Same day collection - we will pick and bag up your order immediately and pop in our customer order area for collection when convenient to you.

    Shop Local and Shop online : WAKEFIELD POSTAL CODE (WF) FREE DELIVERY
  • If you live or work in the Wakefield area we will pay for delivery. 
  • Simply select your goods, pay at the online checkout & select the option Wakefield Postal Code (WF) FREE DELIVERY. 
  • We will use Royal Mail SecondClass Post (2-5 working days).  To use this option you must have a WF postcode.

    JAM LOYALTY CLUB
  • All registered online customers are automatically included in the jam loyalty club
  • Instore customers may join by registering their details online or popping  into the shop & completing a sign-up form

  • Earn points on every transaction : 1 point per £1 spent

  • jam will issue a £2.00 voucher for every 200 points collected

  • jam will send registered customers in the loyalty club a monthly email newsletter informing them of any offers (double points, triple points, exclusive loyalty offers)

    RETURNS

  • We want you to be entirely satisfied with your purchase. If you are not satisfied please email us with details at enquiries@jamgifts.co.uk  and quote your receipt number within 14 days of receipt of your order and we will do what we can to resolve the problem.
  • Should you wish to return an item we will refund or exchange it. Please take reasonable care to ensure the item is in its original condition and with its original packaging. The item should be returned without delay should you decide not to keep it.

  • For all returns, except where the item is faulty, you will be required to pay for return postage to us. Please obtain proof of posting.
  • Your statutory rights are not affected.

Using our website

  • All prices stated on this website are in UK Pounds Sterling and are inclusive of VAT at the current rate (20%). Delivery is charged separately (see above for rates) and is indicated at the checkout page.
  • In order to make a purchase please browse the shopping pages and add items to your shopping basket. After you have made your selection, please click on the checkout where you will be asked to provide the details required to complete the order.
  • We accept payment by Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and Solo.
  • We will send an email confirming the order. This indicates that we have received your order. The contract between us is completed when we have despatched the items you have ordered. We have included this term to protect us in the event that we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. We will, of course, contact you prior to despatch in these circumstances should you wish to amend or cancel your order.
  • Payment is not taken until your order has been despatched.
  • We will tell you if your payment details cannot be authorised for any reason and may invite you to pay by another method.

Privacy Policy

  • Your privacy and internet security is important to us.
  • We only use the information we collect about you carefully, lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Information we hold:

  • if you have shopped with us we will hold your name & address, delivery address, telephone number and email address. Also any password information associated with your account.  We also keep a record of the purchases made on your account.  This helps us to see which are our best-selling gifts etc.
  • if you have sent an enquiry to us or entered a competition we will hold your name & address, telephone number & email address
  • if you have requested to be added to our mailing list we will hold your name & email address. If you wish to unsubscribe please email enquiries@jamgifts.co.uk with ’unsubscribe’ in the subject field or alternatively you can visit the ’My Account’ page of our website and change your preferences

Your transaction information and payment card information is secure even from our own employees because our systems never display the full card numbers, even on administration screens (see payment security details below).

How we use your information:

  • we use the information you supply to process your order, deal with queries, track deliveries & keep you updated with offers & news
  • we may also review past purchases - customer order history enables us to tailor our product range and marketing offers to customer requirements (this information is only reviewed by the owners of jam and is not accessible to members of staff in order to protect your privacy)
  • we do not send random emails (spam)
  • we do not disclose your information to third parties

Payment Security 

We use the industry leading internet payment company Protx to protect your card details and protect us from fraud. The following security systems are used:

Transaction security: All transaction information passed between merchant sites and the Protx VSP Systems is encrypted using 128-bit SSL certificates. No cardholder information is ever passed unencrypted and any messages sent to your servers from Protx are signed using MD5 hashing to prevent tampering. You can be completely secure in the knowledge that nothing you pass to the Protx servers can be examined, used or modified by any third parties attempting to gain access to sensitive information.

Encryption and Data Storage: All sensitive data is secured on Protx using internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards. The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign’s Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract. The data we hold is extremely secure and Protx are regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure it remains so.

Links to banks: Protx has multiple private links into the banking network that are completely separate from the Internet and which do not cross any publicly accessible networks. Any cardholder information sent to the banks and any authorisation message coming back is secure and cannot be tampered with.

Employee access: No individuals within jam or Protx are able to decrypt transaction information or cardholder data. Our systems only allow access to our most senior staff and only in extenuating circumstances (such as investigations of Card Fraud by the Police). Your transaction information and customer card information is secure even from our own employees because our systems never display the full card numbers, even on administration screens.
